Title: Selecting Security Patterns to Fulfill Security Requirements.

Abstract:
Over the last few years a large number of security patterns have been proposed. However, this large number of patterns has created a problem in selecting patterns that are appropriate for different security requirements. In this talk, I will introduce the challenges and I will present a selection approach for security patterns, which allow us to understand in depth the trade-offs involved in the patterns and the implications of a pattern to various security requirements.
Biography:
Dr Mouratidis received his B.Eng (Hons) in Electronics with Computing Science from the University of Wales, Swansea; his M.Sc. in Data Communications and PhD in Computer Science from the University of Sheffield, England. He has also received a Postgraduate Certificate on Teaching and Learning from the University of East London. He is currently a lecturer at the School of Computing and Technology at the University of East London, England. His research interests lie in the areas of agent oriented software engineering, security engineering, and multiagent systems. He has published over 30 papers in international journals and conferences such as Information Systems, AAMAS, AOSE, and CAiSE.

Title: A Case Study: Requirements Elicitation Processes throughout a Project

Abstruct:
Requirements changes sometimes cause a project to fail. A lot of projects now follow incremental development processes so that new requirements and requirements changes can be incorporated as soon as possible. These processes are called integrated requirements processes which integrate requirements processes with other development processes. We have investigated the requirements processes of a project from beginning to end, both quantitatively and qualitatively. Our focus is to clarify the types of requirements based on the components contained within a certain portion of the software architecture. Each type reveals its typical requirements processes through its rationale. The case studied is a system to manage the orders and services of a restaurant. In this paper, we introduce the case and describe the types of requirements processes throughout the development process. Then we discuss the reasons why we could not elicit all the requirements in the early development processes.
Biography:
Dr. Takako Nakatani received master degree of Management Systems Sciences from Graduate School of Systems Management, Univ. of Tsukuba, In 1994.
In 1998, she received Ph.D from Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, University of Tokyo.
From 2006, she is an associate professor of Graduate School of Business Sciences, Univ. of Tsukuba.
Now, she is also a professor of NII and Kyushu Institute of Technology.
Her major is software engineering and requirements engineering.
In 1996, she started independent company, S-Lagoon.
Since then, consulting about object-oriented technology and requirements engineering for engineers and software development projects is the major activity at the S-Lagoon.
